The original recipe calls for 2 c. flour, but the flax meal and wheat germ make these waffles even better. Yields about 14 "Eggo-sized" waffles.

Recipe Ingredients for Waffles

1 cup flour
1/2 cup flax meal
1/2 cup wheat germ
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, large
1 3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup canola oil

Recipe Directions for Waffles

  1. Pre-heat waffle iron.

  2. Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl.

  3. In a medium mixing bowl, lightly beat eggs. Add milk and oil and mix.

  4. Combine all ingredients in the large bowl and mix thoroughly.

  5. Spoon mix onto waffle iron and follow manufacturer's cooking directions.
