Waffle recipe altered for less fat

Recipe Ingredients for Waffles

1 1/2 cups milk
6 eggs
7 tbsp oil
1/2 cup applesauce
2 cups white flour
1 1/2 cups wheat flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar

Recipe Directions for Waffles

  1. Separate eggs

  2. Combine yolks, oil and milk and mix well.

  3. Combine and mix dry ingredients.

  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients.

  5. Whip egg whites till peaks form.

  6. Fold in egg whites.

  7. Bake as directed on waffle iron.
