Good Waffles from Mennonite Cookbook

Recipe Ingredients for Waffles

3 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
4 1/2 tsp baking powder
8 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cup water
1/2 cup melted butter

Recipe Directions for Waffles

  1. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder

  2. Beat the yolks well and add milk, sour cream water and melted butter

  3. Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and beat well

  4. Set aside 1/2 cup waffle batter for the sauce

  5. Add stiffly beaten egg whites and bake in waffle iron
