Recipe Ingredients for Waffles

3 tbsp ground flaxseed
1/2 c water
6 tbsp vegan butter, melted
1 1/2 c nondairy milk
1 3/4 c flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tbsp sugar

Recipe Directions for Waffles

  1. Preheat your waffle iron.

  2. With a food processor, blender, or electronic mixer, whip the flaxseed and water together until it reaches a thick and creamy consistency, about 2 minutes. Add the butter and nondairy milk, and whip for another minute.

  3. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Create a well in the center of your dry ingredients, and pour in the milk mixture. Stir until just combined.

  4. Spoon batter onto the hot iron. Close the lid and bake until the waffle is golden brown. Serve immediately.
