This is a fat free cake that replaces oil w/applesauce. If contains no eggs or dairy and is very low in fat. I often replace the sugar with splenda for a low calorie cake.

Recipe Ingredients for Wacky cake

1 1/2 cups unbleached flour
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 cups baking cocoa
2 tsp baking soda
2/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp vinegar
2 cups water

Recipe Directions for Wacky cake

  1. Mix dry ingredients

  2. mix in wet ingredients with electric mixer

  3. Pour into greased 13x9 pan

  4. bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 min
