4 oz Beef, Round, Top Round
1 dash Salt, Table
2 oz Rice Noodles, Cooked
0.13 tsp Cloves, Ground
1 tsp Cinnamon, Ground
0.25 tbsp Vegetable Oil, Canola
0.5 clove Garlic
0.5 tsp Ginger Root
1.5 cup Soup, Beef Broth Or Bouillon
0.25 tbsp Fish Sauce
0.5 tbsp Local Honey
0.333 cup Peas, Edible-podded
0.25 cup, chopped Peppers, Sweet, Red
0.5 cup Mung Beans, Mature Seeds, Sprouted
1 wedge yields Lime Juice

Recipe Directions for Vietnamese-Style Soup with Beef

  1. cook noodles according to directions drain

  2. cut steak in very thin slices and season with salt, cloves, and cinnamon

  3. in a soup pot heat canola oil over medium high heat . Add sliced steak and cook for about 3 minutes until edges have browned.

  4. Add garlic and ginger. Cook 30 seconds

  5. Add broth, fish sauce and honey, bring to a boil

  6. reduce heat and add the snow peas, bell pepper, and noodles; simmer 3 minutes.

  7. Ladle soup in bowls and add bean sprouts, lime, cilantro, and basil as desired.
