Dipping sauce for Summer Rolls (Goi Cuon)

Recipe Ingredients for Vietnamese Spicy Hoisin Peanut Sauce

1 cup water
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon thick soy sauce
3 tablespoons of Hoisin sauce
4 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
18 grams (2-3 teaspoons) garlic chili pepper sauce
1 salt to taste
1 ounce dry roasted peanuts, chopped

Recipe Directions for Vietnamese Spicy Hoisin Peanut Sauce

  1. In a small sauce pan, add water and garlic. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to low.

  2. Add thick soy sauce, salt, Hoisin sauce, 4 tablespoons peanut butter and garlic chili sauce. Stir until peanut butter is dissolved and the sauce thickens. Add additional peanut butter until desired thickness is obtained. Adjust seasonings to taste. Garnish sauce with chopped peanuts.

  3. Makes approximately two cups. Serving size is 1/3 cup.
