IETNAMESE BBQ WITH PINE NUTS, RADISH & CUCUMBER SALAD

Recipe Ingredients for VIETNAMESE BBQ WITH PINE NUTS, RADISH & CUCUMBER SALAD

1 lbs sirloin steak
3 T Sesame Oil
1/8 cup Dark Brown Sugar
3 T Fresh Ginger
1 cucumber
1 cup vinegar
10 Peppercorns
2 heads Boston lettuce
1 cup toasted pine nuts
1/8 cup mint
1/8 cup basil
1/8 cup cilantro
1/4 cup salt

Recipe Directions for VIETNAMESE BBQ WITH PINE NUTS, RADISH & CUCUMBER SALAD

  1. 2 lbs Ribeye, sliced ¼ inch thin

  2. Marinade:

  3. 1 cup Kecap Manis

  4. 3 T Sesame Oil

  5. 1/8 cup Dark Brown Sugar

  6. 3 T Fish Sauce

  7. 1/4 cup 5 spice

  8. 3 T Fresh Ginger

  9. Pickled Cucumber:

  10. 1 Whole seedless cucumber, sliced paper thin

  11. 1 cup rice wine vinegar

  12. 1/4 cup Mirin

  13. 1 Bay leaf

  14. 10 Peppercorns

  15. 2 heads Boston lettuce

  16. 1 cup toasted pine nuts

  17. 1 bunch mint

  18. 1 bunch basil

  19. 1 bunch cilantro

  20. 1/4 cup maldon salt

  21. Radish sliced paper thin on a mandolin

  22. Mix all marinade ingredients together and marinate pre sliced meat over night.

  23. Place meat on hottest part of grill until caramelized and medium well.

  24. For Pickled Cucumber:

  25. Mix all ingredients and pickle overnight in an airtight container.

  26. To Assemble:

  27. 1. Place 2 slices of meat on lettuce

  28. 2. Top with one tablespoon of pine nuts

  29. 3. Garnish w/radish and cilantro sprig

  30. 4. Finish w/Maldon salt

  31. 5. Place pickled cucumber and basil and mint on side.
