Recipe Ingredients for VI Chili With Steak

1 1/2 lb Beef, Tenderloin
46 ounce tomato juice
10 ounce tomato soup
3/4 cup sweet onion
1/2 cup celery
3 tbl chili powder
27 ounce diced tomatoes
16 ounces Red Beans In Chili Sauce Hot Chili Beans
1/4 cup brown sugar

Recipe Directions for VI Chili With Steak

  1. Brown the steak until medium/midium-rare in a pan or oven. When it is browned enough (slightly pink in center cut it into small pieces and put it back in a frying pan.

  2. Add chopped onion and celery to a pan with the steak and cook until steak is completely browned. In a pot or slow cooker (I use a pot) add all of the liquid ingredients (tomato soup, juice, diced tomatoes, and chili beans) and the chili powder and stir while your waiting for the steak to cook.

  3. I use medium heat until its warm and then use low heat after that. When the liquid is warm, add the brown sugar to it. Add the steak and onions and celery (after draining the liquid) last and let it simmer for a couple hours so the meat has time to tenderize.
