Recipe Ingredients for Vermont Maple Corn Bread

1/4 cup butter
1 egg
1/2 cup fat-free milk
3/4 cup maple syrup
3/4 cup cornmeal
1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder

Recipe Directions for Vermont Maple Corn Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 425, grease an 8x8 or 9x9 baking pan.

  2. Melt the butter then beat it together with the egg, milk and maple syrup. Add on top all of the remaining ingredients in the order listed and beat together just to blend.

  3. Turn the better out into the prepared pan and bake for 20 to 22 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into 9 squares and serve directly from the pan.
