Recipe Ingredients for Vermont Baked Beans

1 pound navy beans, dry
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cups water, boiling
3/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup mustard, spicy brown
3 tbs ketchup

Recipe Directions for Vermont Baked Beans

  1. soak beans overnight.

  2. drain beans, put in slow cooker.

  3. Add onions, water, syrup, mustard & catsup. Stir to incorporate.

  4. Cover & cook low heat 8 hrs.

  5. About 1 hour before searving, remove lid, turn to high setting to cook off some of the liquid, stirring occasionally to keep beans from burning.
