Recipe Ingredients for Venison Stuffed Bell Peppers

1 lbs Venison
1 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. italian seasoning
1 1/2 cup brown rice, cooked
16 oz tomato sauce
6 bell peppers

Recipe Directions for Venison Stuffed Bell Peppers

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  2. Cook rice according to package.

  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the venison, garlic and onion until evenly browned.

  4. Remove and discard the tops, seeds, and membranes of the bell peppers. Arrange peppers in a baking dish with the hollowed sides facing upward. (Slice the bottoms of the peppers if necessary so that they will stand upright.)

  5. In a bowl, mix the browned venison, cooked rice, 1 can tomato sauce, salt, and pepper. Spoon an equal amount of the mixture into each hollowed pepper. Mix the remaining tomato sauce and Italian seasoning and pour over the stuffed peppers.

  6. Bake 1 hour in the preheated oven, until the peppers are tender.
