I remember this from my childhood. yum.

Recipe Ingredients for Venison Stroganoff

1 lb ground venison
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
1 tsp vegetable oil
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
1 large onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup white wine
1 can cream of chicken soup, undiluted
1/2 cup half and half
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
2 cups cooked rice

Recipe Directions for Venison Stroganoff

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Spray 139 inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Place beef in large skillet; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Brown venison over medium-high heat until no longer pink, stirring to separate venison. Drain fat from skillet; set aside.

  2. Heat oil in same skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add onion and garlic; cook and stir until onion is tender. Add mushrooms and saute 1 minute. Add wine. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 3 minutes.

  3. Remove from heat; stir in soup, sour cream and mustard until well combined.

  4. Return venison to skillet.

  5. Place rice in prepared dish. Pour venison mixture over rice; stir until rice is well coated. Bake uncovered, 30 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle with chopped parsley, if desired.
