one cup servings *options are: to add <cup natural bacon crisps, or tidbits of coarse ring sausage.

Recipe Ingredients for Venison Chili

16 oz venison, browned in
2 tablespoon peanut oil
14 1/2 oz pork and beans , Van DeCamp's
14 1/2 oz chili beans, Bush's mild
14 1/2 oz tomatoes, diced, no salt
1 tomatillo, chopped
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/3 onion, minced, salt & pepper to taste
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fennel seed

Recipe Directions for Venison Chili

  1. Brown venison in oil, with onions, salt & pepper.

  2. Add the cans of tomatoes, pork and beans, & Mild chili beans, (and add 1-2 tsp chili powder for those that like it hot).

  3. Stir in brown sugar, garlic and fennel.

  4. Simmer 8-10 minutes, and let steep.

  5. Serve with rice or cheese, if you like.

  6. Make ahead of time.
