Recipe Ingredients for Veggie Burger

1/2 green bell pepper
1/2 onion
3 garlic cloves, peeled
1 egg
1/2 tbsp chili powder
1/2 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp cumin
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp hot sauce
1/2 cup Wheat Germ

Recipe Directions for Veggie Burger

  1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees C, and oil baking sheet with 1 tablespoon of olive oil or non-stick cooking spray.

  2. In a bowl, mash kidney beans with a fork until thick and pasty.

  3. In a blender, toss in bell pepper, onion, and garlic, then stir into mashed kidney beans.

  4. In another bowl, stir egg, chili powder, paprika, cumin, and soy sauce.

  5. Toss in and stir the egg mixture into the mashed beans. Mix in the wheat germ until the mixture is sticky and holds together.

  6. Divide into 6 patties.

  7. Place patties on baking sheet, and bake about 10 minutes on each side.

  8. You may also opt to grill by spraying a non-stick cooking spray on a frying pan, and grilling the patty 5-8 minutes on each side or until properly browned.
