Recipe Ingredients for Vegetarian stir fry with crisp tofu and oyster sauce

14 ounces firm tofu, cubed
13 ounces mushrooms, canned
1/2 medium onion, diced
5 cloves garlic, minced
4 tbsp ginger, minced
3 tbsp. dry white wine
16 oz. broccoli
1 cup carrots, diced
1/2 bell pepper
10 ounces red cabbage
1 tbsp. sesame oil
1/2 tsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. water
2 1/2 tbsp. oyster sauce
2 tbsp. splenda granular
1 tbsp. soy sauce
1 cup green onions, diced

Recipe Directions for Vegetarian stir fry with crisp tofu and oyster sauce

  1. Cube and bake tofu for 45 minutes or so until crisp, golden, and chewy.

  2. Heat up wok until it is lightly smoking.

  3. Quickly pour in the sesame oil, leave for about 30 seconds and put in the ginger and onion.

  4. Keep stirring until they become fragrant and and golden.

  5. Put in the mushroom slices and tofu continue stirfrying for about 1 minute.

  6. Pour in the wine and stir for a minute. Heat water, mix with corn starch, add to dish.

  7. Add the broccoli then the other vegetables.

  8. Pour in the oyster sauce, soy sauce and sweetener, stirring to mix well. Mix thoroughly, lower heat to medium and then cover the wok for about 3 minutes.

  9. By now the water would have reduced. Turn off the fire, and put in the green onions. Give it another good stir to mix the green onions.

  10. Serve on a base of rice or noodles. This goes well with tofu shiritake noodles.
