Nummy alternative to regular Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Recipe Ingredients for Vegetarian Multi Grain M&M cookies

1/2 cup shortening, butter flavored
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup white sugar
1/4 cup applesauce
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cup Hodgson Mill Multi Grain Hot Cereal
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup "M&M's" Plain chocolate

Recipe Directions for Vegetarian Multi Grain M&M cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 375F

  2. In large bowl, cream together shortening, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth.

  3. Beat in applesauce and vanilla until well blended.

  4. Combine multi-grain cereal, flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir into creamed mixture.

  5. Mix in the candy-coated chocolate.

  6. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.

  7. Bake for 10 min. in the preheated oven until lightly golden brown.

  8. EAT!!!
