Very simple pea soup, 0 fat, suitable for use as a base or to be eaten as is

Recipe Ingredients for Vegan Split Pea Soup

2 cup dry split peas
2 onions
6 cups water
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper

Recipe Directions for Vegan Split Pea Soup

  1. Soak peas in plenty of water about 2 hours, longer is fine

  2. Drain peas and replace water (6 cups)

  3. Bring peas to a boil then reduce heat to minimum and cook covered about 45 minutes

  4. Peel and finely chop onion, add to peas. Add pepper and salt, continue cooking about 15 to 20 minutes.
