A yummy basic meatball that is completely vegan. Makes 32 meatballs; 2 per serving.

Recipe Ingredients for Vegan Meatballs

1 cup hot water
1 tsp vegan Worcestershire
1 1/2 tbsp ketchup
2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
1 serving bouillon cube "beef" flavor
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp thyme
3/4 cup TVP
1/2 cup cornmeal
2 tbsp oatmeal
3/4 cup bread crumbs
2 tbsp white flour
3 tbsp vital wheat gluten flour
1 tbsp flax seeds
3 tbsp warm water

Recipe Directions for Vegan Meatballs

  1. Mix boullon with hot water.

  2. In a small bowl mix hot water, worcestershire, ketchup, soy sauce,onion powder, garlic powder, pepper, paprika and thyme.

  3. Add TVP and set aside to cool. I let it sit in the fridge for a while and stirred it until room temperature.

  4. Crush flax seeds and add to 3 tbsp water. Set aside until partially gelled.

  5. Add cornmeal, oatmeal, bread crumbs, and flours in a large bowl. Mix well.

  6. Add TVP mixture and flax mixture. Slowly stir until well mixed, then knead into a large ball.

  7. Using a well rounded 1/2 tbsp, make 32 meatballs.

  8. Saute them in oil or bake them at 375 degrees for ten minutes.
