this European favorite is kasha varnishkas combines whole grains, is very easy to make.

Recipe Ingredients for vegan buckwheat with carrot buttons and pasta bows

1 cup Buckwheat Groats
1 large Carrots, Baby
2 cup Vegetable Stock
8 oz Spaghetti, Whole-wheat, Dry
1 small Onions
1 tsp Pepper, Black
1 oz Parsley

Recipe Directions for vegan buckwheat with carrot buttons and pasta bows

  1. brown carrot rounds for 2 minutes, may add water to steam them.

  2. pre-cook pasta according to directions until el dente.

  3. add buckwheat and carrots and set aside, covered for 10 minutes.

  4. carmelize the onions (may use some olive oil) about 10 minutes until tender.

  5. add all together. over low heat, gently stirring until heated through. garnish with parsley and serve hot.
