Recipe Ingredients for Vegan Baking Powder biscuits

2 cups whole wheat flour
1/3 cup shortening
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
7/8 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 serving (1 tbsp) smart balance spread

Recipe Directions for Vegan Baking Powder biscuits

  1. heat oven to 500

  2. sift flour before measuring

  3. sift together dry ingredients

  4. cut in shortening until size of rice

  5. make well in mixture & add milk all at once

  6. mix with fork

  7. knead a couple times & press out on floured board

  8. use floured glass to cut round dough

  9. place on floured cookie sheet

  10. brush with melted smart balance

  11. bake for 10-15 minutes, until brown
