Recipe Ingredients for Vanilla Poundcake

1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
3 egg yolks
4 eggs
1 tbsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp white vinegar

Recipe Directions for Vanilla Poundcake

  1. cream the butter and sugar until white and fluffy

  2. sift the flour, salt, and baking powder: set aside

  3. Scrape down the sides of your mixer and add the vanilla

  4. add each egg yolk one by one

  5. add each egg one by one

  6. add the buttermilk with the dry ingredients in 3 additions

  7. bake at 325 degrees F until toothpick comes out clean.
