Recipe Ingredients for UnStuffed Cabbage

1 1/2 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb lean ground beef
1 head,+medium+about+5-3/4"+dia cabbage
15 oz stewed tomato
283 g Diced Original Tomatoes and Green Chilies
737 g Italian Herb Chunky Spaghetti Sauce
2 small cans of mushrooms, drained (or 8 oz containers sliced mushrooms)

Recipe Directions for UnStuffed Cabbage

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  2. In a nonstick skillet over medium, cook onion and garlic for 2-3 minutes until soft and fragrant. Add your ground beef and continue to cook until browned.

  3. While beef is browning, shred your cabbage by cutting in half, removing the core, then cutting in quarters. Slice each quarter into thin pieces. Set into a large casserole dish.

  4. Top shredded cabbage with browned beef, mushrooms, diced tomatoes and sauce. (Used what I had. tasted great w/ sauce.) Sprinkle everything with dried oregano, salt and pepper to taste. Bake for about 60 minutes in 375 degree oven until sauce is bubbly and cabbage is cooked through.
