An easy version of stuffed cabbage

Recipe Ingredients for Unstuffed Cabbage Casserole

900 g. cabbage
172 g. onion
544 g. 94/6 Ground Beef
455 g. diced tomatoes, juice reserved
66 g. tomato paste
3 cups success brown rice
7 g. chicken bouillon
1 cup water

Recipe Directions for Unstuffed Cabbage Casserole

  1. Preheat oven to 350.

  2. Chop Cabbage roughly - set aside.

  3. Brown meat in large skillet. When almost completely done, add chopped onion and cook until onion is translucent.

  4. Add uncooked rice and tomatoes, toss to combine.

  5. In a greased 9x13 baking dish, layer meat mixture with cabbage, starting with meat.

  6. Add tomato paste to reserved tomato juice, add chicken boullion and water. Stir to mix thoroughly.

  7. Pour liquid over casserole.

  8. Bake for 60 minutes covered, then an additional 30 minutes uncovered.

  9. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
