Recipe Ingredients for Unsinful Brownies

1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
3 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1 cups Splenda
1/2 cup applesauce
4 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup soy flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt (necessary)

Recipe Directions for Unsinful Brownies

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

  2. Lightly spray bottom only of a 13 x 9 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.

  3. Combine oil and chocolate in a saucepan over low heat.

  4. Simmer until chocolate is melted, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and cool slightly.

  5. Add sugar and applesauce and mix well.

  6. Stir in egg whites or eggs and vanilla and mix well.

  7. Combine oatmeal and next 3 ingredients in a bowl.

  8. Add to applesauce mixture and mix well.

  9. Spread evenly in prepared pan.

  10. Bake 22-25 minutes or until center is almost set and edges pull away from sides of pan.

  11. Do not overbake.

  12. Cool completely.

  13. Cut into bars.

  14. Store loosely covered.
