What types of carbohydrate can a diabetic eat?

I want to know the list of carbohydrate food to eat as a diabetic person.


People with diabetes should eat complex carbohydrates that are high in fiber, such as whole grains, oatmeal, legumes, and vegetables with their skin and seeds intact. They should go easy on simple sugars found in fruit and juices and eat very few foods that contain added sugar from sucrose (table sugar), high fructose corn syrup and honey.  Some people with diabetes eat according to the Glycemic Index (GI), choosing low GI foods like kidney beans, lentils, apples, bananas, and sweet corn, while avoiding high GI like white bread, potatoes, and candy.  Health processional are on the fence about the importance of the glycemic index.  Read about the controversy in this Calorie Count blog, Can Understanding the Glycemic Index Help You Eat Better?
