Recipe Ingredients for Tuscan Sausage and bean soup

341 g italian sausage
1 large onion
2 cloves garlic
2 c carrots
1 c celery
32 oz chicken broth
108 g white kidney beans
101 g pinto beans
14 1/2 oz tomatoes
1/2 c red wine
1 t basil
1 t italian seasoning
1/2 head cabbage

Recipe Directions for Tuscan Sausage and bean soup

  1. If using a slow cooker, combine all ingredients on low 8-10 hrs.

  2. If cooking quickly on the stove, first brown the sausage and drain the fat. Then sautee onion, garlic, carrot, celery until softened and add with sausage to the pot with broth, seasonings, beans, tomato and wine. Let simmer until well combined.

  3. Add cabbage the last 10-20 mins., depending on how done you like it.
