Recipe Ingredients for Turnovers, Favorite Jam or Pie filling

6 tablespoons cream cheese
6 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons water, on ice
1 egg, well beaten
5 tablespoons jam, preserves

Recipe Directions for Turnovers, Favorite Jam or Pie filling

  1. Blend the cream cheese and butter in a bowl, then stir in vanilla and ice water. Add the flour and salt, mix well.

  2. Place in refrigerator for 1 hour. Roll out thin on a floured surface and cut into 2" squares or 4" rounds.

  3. Place 1/2 teaspoon of jam in the center of each square or round. Fold over and seal the edges with a fork.

  4. Place on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Brush with the beaten egg mixture.

  5. Bake in a 425 oven for 15 minutes.
