Recipe Ingredients for Turnips, Southern Style

1 tsp vegetable broth powder
1 cup water
455 grams turnips, raw
112 grams onions, chopped
1 tsp garlic flakes
2 tbsp reduced fat sour cream
1/4 oz (2 tbsp) shredded cheddar cheese 2%

Recipe Directions for Turnips, Southern Style

  1. Peel and chop turnips into bite-size pieces.

  2. Place water into saucepan and add broth powder.

  3. Bring to boil and boil for one minute until powder is well disolved.

  4. Add garlic, turnips, and onions to broth and bring to boil. Boil until tender, about 10 mins adding more water if needed.

  5. Simmer until water has evaporated and remove from heat.

  6. Add sour cream to coat.

  7. Top with cheese and serve immediately.
