Can use mustard, collard, etc. greens

Recipe Ingredients for Turnip Greens

2 1/2 lbs turnip greens, washed and chopped into 1-in. pieces
3 strips bacon
2/3 cup chopped onions
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp red wine vinegar
1 t salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Recipe Directions for Turnip Greens

  1. Wash and cut greens into 1 inch pieces, removing thickest parts of stems

  2. Cut bacon into 1inch pieces and cook

  3. Stir in greens to coat with grease. Pour off any excess grease.

  4. Add onions, garlic

  5. Cover with water and cook until tender, about 1 hour, stirring occasionally

  6. Add more water if needed to keep from scorching.

  7. Tilt lid near end of cook time to let more water evaporate.

  8. Add vinegar, salt & pepper to taste.
