Recipe Ingredients for Turkish Turkey Burgers

1 1/4 pounds ground turkey
3 tablespoons bread crumbs
3 cloves garlic
1 cup yogurt
4 tablespoons fresh mint
2 teaspoons cumin
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon Splenda
1 teaspoon kosher salt
2 tablespoons olive oil

Recipe Directions for Turkish Turkey Burgers

  1. Create the yogurt sauce first to add to the mixture by stirring the following ingredients together in a bowl:

  2. 1 cup Greek-style, plain yogurt (make the recipe even healthier by using the non-fat variety)

  3. 1 clove garlic peeled and pressed

  4. 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh mint

  5. Use a large bowl and mix 2 tablespoons of the yogurt sauce together with the following:

  6. 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh mint

  7. 2 teaspoons cumin

  8. 2 tablespoons lemon juice

  9. 1 teaspoon Splenda

  10. 1 teaspoon kosher salt

  11. 2 cloves garlic peeled and pressed

  12. Add the turkey and bread crumbs (try whole wheat crumbs to make the recipe even healthier) to the mix and combine. Then create the patties based on the desired size.

  13. Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the burgers until they are nicely browned, about 4 minutes for each side. Flatter patties help assure that the meat is cooked through.

  14. Use the remaining yogurt sauce to sprinkle on the cooked patties.

  15. These also are delicious grilled either in the oven or outdoors.
