Turkish green lentil soup. Salt is a guess. I add to taste but using lemon can greatly reduce the need for salt. Note: seasonings can be adjusted to taste.

Recipe Ingredients for Turkish Green Lentil Soup

150 grams Onions
200 grams Lentils
2 clove Garlic
1 tbsp Lemon Juice, Canned Or Bottled
1 serving Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tsp Salt, Table
4 cup (8 fl oz) Water
1 serving Ground Cumin
1 tsp Paprika
0.5 tsp Pepper, Black

Recipe Directions for Turkish Green Lentil Soup

  1. Saute onion in oil unitl soft.

  2. Add garlic, cumin, paprika, pepper and saute lighly for a couple of minutes.

  3. Add lentils and saute lightly for 5 minutes.

  4. Add 4 cups of water and simmer fir 45 minuntes until the lentils are cooked. Add more water during cooking if necessary.

  5. Traditionally served with dressing of vinegar, lemon and garlic.

  6. Salt to taste.
