Very lean, flavorful sausage patties...great for bkfst sandwiches **Note: I use chipotle powder, not a seasoning mix. If using a mix, delete salt if mix you use has salt in it.

Recipe Ingredients for Turkey~Sausage Patties

1 pound 99% fat free ground turkey
1/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp ground black pepper
1/8 tsp fennel seeds, crushed
1/8 tsp Jar Southwest Chipotle Seasoning
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
1/2 tsp ground sage

Recipe Directions for Turkey~Sausage Patties

  1. Add all ingredients, except turkey, in med bowl. Stir to combine. Add turkey. Mix with fork, so turkey doesn't mash.

  2. Portion out in 1/3-1/4 cup portions. Wet hands to handle...press into thin patties.

  3. In large non-stick skillet, over medium heat, place several patties in hot skillet, cook til browned, flip & brown 2nd side.

  4. Add 2-3 tsp of water to pan to deglaze pan. Move patties around pan & flip in browned liquid ( for color & flavor).

  5. Remove patties to plate & continue til all mix is used. Cool, place waxed paper between patties & freeze in freezer bag. Reheat in pan or microwave.
