Turkey thighs with onion, garlic, bouillon and rice

Recipe Ingredients for Turkey Thighs with Rice Crockpot

1.78 lb turkey, dark meat
4 c chicken stock, low sodium
8 cloves garlic
2 T sunflower oil
1 medium onion
1/2 cup rice

Recipe Directions for Turkey Thighs with Rice Crockpot

  1. Peel and crush garlic; chop onion coarsley.

  2. Wash & dry thighs, remove skin.

  3. Dissolve 2 bouillon cubes in 4 cups water and boil (microwave is convenient)

  4. Heat oil in non-stick skillet

  5. Brown thighs in hot oil, 2 minutes per side, turning once, then place in crockpot

  6. Add onion & garlic to skillet, cook & stir until brown, 2-3 minutes, add to crockpot

  7. salt & pepper to taste

  8. add bouillon

  9. Cook in crockpot on low for 5 hours

  10. add rice (and curry powder or other seasoning as desired) & cook on high 30 minutes

  11. Ready to serve or freeze
