A "healthy" twist on an old favorite.

Recipe Ingredients for Turkey Reuben Sandwich

2 slices Dark Rye Bread
2 slices of Turkey Breast
1 tablespoon of Thousand Island Dressing
2 slices of cheese
4 tablespoons of Sauerkraut

Recipe Directions for Turkey Reuben Sandwich

  1. I begin by toasting the bread instead of grilling it. I then put a touch of thousand island dressing on it. Place the cheese and turkey on it and put it in a toaster oven to heat the turkey and cheese. While the cheese is melting I drain a serving of sauerkraut to place in the middle. (I like the contrast between the crispness of the bread, the heat of the turkey and melted cheese and the coolness of the sauerkraut)

  2. It is generally MUCH healthier than a burger as well as quick and easy to make. The cheese and the thousand island dressing are the only unhealthy / fattening parts of it. Once I run out of dressing I may try a "low cal" version of the dressing.
