Turkey Pozharskiy Recipe

Lower in calories than my previous recipe. Can cut the egg whites down to less than a quarter cup, and then can do without one or two slices of the oat bread.

Recipe Ingredients for Turkey Pozharskiy

1 lb ground turkey breast
1/3 cup egg whites
3 slices whole grain oat bread
1 slice rye bread
1/2 cup bread crumbs
2 tbsp smart balance light

Recipe Directions for Turkey Pozharskiy

  1. Soak the bread until moist (can use milk, if preferred); squeeze out liquid and mix the moist bread in with the ground turkey

  2. Add egg and a splash of vodka, if desired, and mix thoroughly

  3. Wet your hands with cold water and make 8 oval shaped patties

  4. Cover the patties with bread crumbs

  5. Fry in medium hot skillet in Smart Balance Light until golden

  6. Serve with a touch of sour cream on top, if desired
