Turkey Pot Pie Recipe

from the Home Cooking cook book, i used a store bought crust, but this recipe is with a home-made version which is what i usually do

Recipe Ingredients for Turkey pot pie

2 pie crusts, regular
2 cups turkey, cubed
1 cup carrots, cubed
1 cup potatoes, cubed
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1/2 cup peas
16 ounces chicken broth
2 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon butter

Recipe Directions for Turkey pot pie

  1. *in a large pan saute carrots, potatoes, and celery in 1 tablespoon of butter (use olive oil if preferred) for 5-6 minutes.

  2. *Add chicken or turkey broth to vegetable and let simmer until veggies are tender (about 10 minutes) when veggies are tender add frozen peas to mixture.

  3. *While veggies are getting tender mix 2 tablespoons of flower with 1/2 cup of milk (forgot to put milk in recipe)

  4. *add milk/flour mixture to the veggies and stir. All the liquid should thicken. When it has thickened, put all contents in the pie crust, cover with top crust. Cut slits in top of crust or make designs

  5. bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes.
