Recipe Ingredients for Turkey pot pie

3 tbsp butter
1 cups onion, diced
2 tsp garlic, minced
2 tbsp cornstarch
3 cups chicken broth
1 cup carrot, diced
1 cup celery, diced
2 yukon gold potatoes, 2 cups diced
3 cups turkey, diced
1 cup green peas, thawed
2 tbsp parsley, chopped

Recipe Directions for Turkey pot pie

  1. Heat butter in saucepan over medium heat and cook onion until tender, about 10 minutes.

  2. Add garlic and suate until aromatic, about 30 seocnds.

  3. Stir in flour and stir constantly until pasty and thick, about 2 minutes.

  4. Add broth and whisk well to work out any lumps. Bring to a boil and immediately reduce to a simmer, strirring until thickened, about 15 minutes.

  5. Salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Add diced vegetables to broth mixture and simmer until tender, about 20 minutes.

  7. Add turkey and peas and remove from heat. Stir in chopped parsley.

  8. Spoon filling into individual crocks or a baking dish. Cut pastry to appropriate size and cover dish. Cut vents in dough and press edges to seal on dish

  9. Bake in a 350F oven until pastry is puffed and golden, about 45 min. for a large dish or 25 min for individual dishes. Serve immediately.

  10. Serves 4
