A nice variation of the Cuban picadillo made from ground beef. It can be served with brown rice to make a nutritious meal.

Recipe Ingredients for Turkey Picadillo

1 lb (93%) lean ground turkey
2 tablespoons of tomato paste
1/2 cup of olives
1/2 cup of raisins
1 large onion chopped
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1/2 chopped green pepper
3 cloves of garlic
2 tablespoon lime juice
3 tablespoons of dry white wine
1 tablespoon of fresh chopped basil
1 tablespoon of cumin
1 teaspoon of salt

Recipe Directions for Turkey Picadillo

  1. In a frying pan, heat the oil

  2. Add the onions and peppers

  3. Then the ground turkey

  4. Cook until onions are soft and meat begins to brown

  5. Put the garlic through a garlic press into the pan

  6. Add the chopped green, pimento-stuffed Spanish Olives

  7. Add the raisins

  8. Add the remaining ingredients and cook on low to medium heat until it smells ready to eat.

  9. Serve over rice.
