Turkey Pasta Sauce Recipe

Use no salt added tomatoes to reduce salt in this recipe.

Recipe Ingredients for turkey pasta sauce

115 g onion
102 g celery
170 g mushroom
2 cloves garlic
450 g extra lean ground turkey
2 tsp olive oil
1/4 tsp sea salt
106 g yellow pepper
28 oz can diced tomatoes
3 T tomato paste
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp rosemary

Recipe Directions for turkey pasta sauce

  1. Chop all vegetables.

  2. Heat oil in a large pan. Add onions and garlic with celery.

  3. Soften vegetables. Add mushrooms and lean ground turkey. Add herbs and salt.

  4. Cook for 5 minutes.

  5. Add peppers, tomatoes and tomato paste.

  6. Let simmer for about 1/2 hour or until thick. Serve over pasta or quinoa.
