Lose some of the fat but none of the flavor with this Italian recipe, subbing turkey for ground beef or pork.

Recipe Ingredients for Turkey Meatballs

1 pound ground turkey
1/2 cup bread crumbs
2 eggs
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 cup grated parmesan
2 tbs finely chopped parsley
1 tsp salt
1 ground pepper
2 tbs olive oil

Recipe Directions for Turkey Meatballs

  1. Combine all the ingredients except the oil in a large bowl. Mix together thoroughly.

  2. Rinse hands with cool water and lightly shape the mixture into 2-inch balls.

  3. Heat the oil in a large skillet. Add the meatballs and brown them well on all sides. Transfer meatballs to a plate.

  4. Add meatballs to pot of marinara or other sauce, and cook for 30 minutes or until the sauce is thick and the meat is very tender.

  5. Serve meatballs with pasta of your choice.
