Use Japanese Panko for breadcrumbs (whole-wheat if you can find them). Tasty and healthy!

Recipe Ingredients for Turkey Meatballs

1 small onion, chopped fine
2 cloves garlic minced
1 tbsp parmesan cheese
1/4 cup egg whites
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 pinch red pepper flake
1 3/10 lb lean ground turkey
2 tbsp panko bread crumbs
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp fresh thyme

Recipe Directions for Turkey Meatballs

  1. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.

  2. Have tomato sauce warming in a sauce pot for when meatballs are ready for saucing up.

  3. Mix all ingredients well in a bowl. Shape into meatballs, about golfball size (or however big or small, just adjust the caloric content as such). Place on baking sheet, broil for about 10 minutes, until browned on all sides, and almost cooked through.

  4. Remove and add to bubbling sauce, and cook covered, about 10 minutes more. Serve with whole-wheat pasta and steamed broccoli (which by the way tastes great with a nice spicy marinara)
