Recipe Ingredients for turkey meatballs with peppers

16 oz Ground Turkey
1/2 medium (approx 2-3/4" long, 2-1/2" dia) Peppers, Sweet, Green
1 medium Egg, Whole
1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions
1 cloves, raw Garlic
3/4 tsp Italian Seasoning
1 oz Parsley
2 slice Bread
2.22 oz Tomato Puree
14 oz Stewed Tomatoes, Italian Recipe
1 small Onions
1 cloves, raw Garlic
1 medium (approx 2-3/4" long, 2-1/2" dia) Peppers, Sweet, Green
1 tsp, ground Basil, Dried
4 serving CATELLI Healthy Harvest Whole Wheat Pasta

Recipe Directions for turkey meatballs with peppers

  1. make the meatballs

  2. cut crust off bread and mash to crumbs with a fork. Mix with meatball ingredients (14oz tomatoes, 1 small onion chopped, 1 clove garlic crushed, 1/2 pepper deseeded and chopped, 1 tsp dried basil) add a few screws of black pepper and mix well using your hands.

  3. make into 14 - 16 balls

  4. brown lightly in large frying pan

  5. preheat oven to 375

  6. transfer meatballs to oven dish and prepare sauce in same frying pan.

  7. soften onions and green pepper for 5 minutes before adding remainder of ingredients then simmer for 5 mins.

  8. Pour sauce over meatballs and cook, covered, in oven for 45 mins

  9. take off lid and cook 15 mins

  10. put pasta in boiling water and cook to taste

  11. serve
