An Asian meat and vegetable combination wonderful with or without rice served in lettuce leaves or on a bun. Also would be good in rice as a fried rice dish. Can easily be made gluten free.

Recipe Ingredients for Turkey lettuce wraps

2 t Olive oil
1 pound ground turkey
1/2 cup onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 sweet pepper, finely diced
1 large carrot, grated
2 cups shredded cabbage
2 T soy sauce
2 t sesame oil
1 t fresh ginger, grated
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Recipe Directions for Turkey lettuce wraps

  1. Saute the turkey and onion in the olive oil in a large skillet.

  2. Add the garlic and saute about 10 seconds or until fragrant.

  3. Add the vegetables, soy sauce, sesame oil, and ginger. Cook stirring frequently until the cabbage is quite wilted and the vegetables are incorporated into the meat.

  4. Add the cilantro and cook another 30 seconds.

  5. Serve on lettuce leaves. Can also be served on buns.
