Up to a 3/4 c butter may be added if necessary. 1-2 Cups of Chicken broth may be added Add more poultry seasoning if you like

Recipe Ingredients for Turkey Dressing

40 oz whole wheat bread
1/2 lb butter
3 large carrots (grated)
6 stalks celery (chopped)
2 large onions (grated)
2 Tsb Poultry Seasoning
1 Tsb Sage
1 cup chicken broth
1 Salt & Lemon Pepper

Recipe Directions for Turkey Dressing

  1. Cut the bread into 1 inch cubes put into large roaster or bowl {I don ?t use the crusts}

  2. Melt the butter and add the grated carrot, onion and the chopped celery.

  3. Let this simmer and then add the poultry seasoning about 2 Tlbsp and about 2 tsp. Sage. Add 1 to 2 tsp lemon pepper and continue to cook until the veggies are tender. Pour over the breadcrumbs and stir thoroughly. Place in a heavy roaster.

  4. If you put it into a lighter weight container it could burn so lining it with tin foil is a good idea.

  5. As for the butter if that does not look like enough just add more as you like.

  6. Also I use my food chopper for the carrots and onions, however I chop the celery with a knife, as it gets stringy in the food chopper. As for the salt it is a personal preference. I usually taste the dressings once I have mixed it altogether and then I add salt if I think it needs it.
