chili as usual, just using ground turkey breast instead of ground beef and reducing 2 cans of chili beans to 1 can and replacing it with chick peas.

Recipe Ingredients for Turkey Chili

1 pound ground turkey breast
15 oz chili beans
15 oz chick peas
15 oz stewed tomatoes
4 oz green chilies
1 quart low sodium tomato juice
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 T chili powder
1 T sea salt
2 T butter
1 small yellow onion

Recipe Directions for Turkey Chili

  1. Saute chopped onion is butter and chili powder in a large pot until tender.

  2. Add raw turkey and brown until cooked through.

  3. Add tomato juice, chick peas (drained and rinsed), chili beans with sauce, stewed tomatoes (drained and coarsely chopped), green chilies with liquid, ketchup, brown sugar, and salt.

  4. Bring to a boil stirring occasionally. Then reduce heat and simmer at least half an hour.

  5. Adjust flavor by adding more chili powder, salt, or brown sugar as needed.
