Not a bad substitute for ground beef

Recipe Ingredients for Turkey Chili

2 lbs lean ground turkey
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
3 T chili powder
28 oz canned tomatoes
1 c water
14 oz light red kidney beans
1 T extra-virgin olive oil

Recipe Directions for Turkey Chili

  1. Add oil to dutch oven over med-high heat..

  2. Sauté' onions until translucent, remove and set aside.

  3. Add turkey to oven and brown until done, around 8-9 minutes

  4. Stir in chili powder, coating browned turkey

  5. Crush tomatoes by hand and add to pot with juices

  6. Add water, sauteed onion and kidney beans, Stir well

  7. Bring to boil, then reduce to simmer, partially cover pot and cook for 2 hours.

  8. Serve
