Turkey Chili Recipe

Recipe Ingredients for turkey chili

1 1/4 lbs jennie-o ground turkey
1 1/4 chopped yellow onion
5 cloves fresh garlic
4 jalapeno peppers
1 Serrano peppers
15 oz can diced tomatoes
15 oz can black beans
25 oz can tomato sauce
1 tbsp cumin
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp ground oregano
3 tbsp paprika
5 tbsp chili powder
1 cayenne pepper to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
15 oz water

Recipe Directions for turkey chili

Add one TBSP of olive oil to hot skillet and then add turkey to brown. Once turkey is partially cooked add chopped onions and garlic to brown, once this is cooked add it to a crock pot with the tomato sauce. Get skillet hot again and add remaining TBSP of olive oil to pan then adding all fresh peppers to roast quickly, once pepper have a little char noticeable add your can of diced tomatoes to the peppers to deglaze the pan. Add the peppers and diced tomatoes to the crock pot and stir in black beans, seasonings and water. Now you just have to wait a few hours the longer the better!!! For a thicker chili you can add Masa flour to the mixture to thicken it.
