Recipe Ingredients for Turkey Chili

16 oz extra lean ground turkey
15 oz petite diced tomatoes
7 1/2 oz kidney beans
7 1/2 oz low sodium black beans
1 small russet potato
1/2 yellow onion, chopped
1 tsp minced garlic
1 cup chopped zucchini
1 cup chopped mushroom
7 oz canned tomato sauce
1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
1 tsp chili powder
1 tbsp olive oil

Recipe Directions for Turkey Chili

  1. In a big pot over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Add garlic and onion and stir occasionally until garlic is lightly browned and onion is translucent.

  2. Add in ground turkey and cook until brown, as well as potato, zucchini, mushroom, and red bell pepper and saute until almost cooked through.

  3. Add in tomatoes, beans, and chili powder and bring to a simmer and let cook until flavors combine and mixture is heated through.

  4. *Add light mexican or mozzarella cheese and some brown rice if you would like! (This will alter calorie content)
