This is a healthier version of one of my favorite meals.

Recipe Ingredients for Turkey Chili

1 red onion, coarsely chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 green bell pepper, coarsely chopped
1 lb. extra lean ground turkey
28 oz. stewed tomatoes
28 oz. tomato puree
1/2 cup salsa
16 oz. red kidney beans, drained
1 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. ground cumin

Recipe Directions for Turkey Chili

  1. In a large saucepan, brown the ground turkey until no pink remains. Drain off all excess fat.

  2. Add onion, pepper, and garlic and heat for ten minutes.

  3. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 hour or until the onion and pepper are tender.

  4. Enjoy!
